SPECIAL DISCUNT: Notice to Washington County Taxpayers
Board of Commissioners and the Town of Creswell Town Council have adopted a schedule to allow discounts for the payment of property taxes prior to the due date. The following discount schedule has been approved beginning July 1, 2021:

Taxes paid by July 31 – 2% discount
Taxes paid by August 31 – 1% discount


This schedule is effective for the 2021 tax year beginning July 1, 2021 and for all subsequent years unless rescinded or modified in accordance with law. You do not have to wait to receive your tax bill to pay your 2021 taxes. If you want to take advantage of the 2% discount for July, please come by our office today.

Washington County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution at their regularly scheduled meeting held on Monday, August 6, 2018 declaring certain personal property surplus and authorizing for the property to be sold by electronic public auction. The county will be using GovDeals, an on-line auction service provider, for the disposal of this property. From July 12- August 12, 2021, Washington County will surplus the items listed above. Registration is required for bidding. All items are sold “as is,” and the acceptable methods of payment are cash, money order, cashier’s check and credit card. Please review the terms and conditions posted on the website before bidding.

The Washington County Board of Elections will have a hand-to-eye count on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room, located at 116 Adams Street, Plymouth, NC. It will only be for the race (NC Supreme Court Chief Justice Seat 1) Cheri Beasley and Paul Newby.
