Hours of Operation
Washington County Communications Center
serves as the Public Safety Answering Point for all agencies in
Washington County. Our Center provides dispatching services for all
County and Municipal Law Enforcement Agencies; Fire Departments,
Emergency Medical Services, and a variety of other public safety
agencies. The Communications Center is operated 24 hours a day, 365 days
each year, by dedicated certified Telecommunicators prepared to assist
with emergency and non-emergency calls.
Mission
Washington County Communications Center will
act as a vital link between our public safety agencies and the citizens
of Washington County. We strive to ensure that a trained professional
will be ready at all times to take your information and professionally
dispatch the necessary emergency responders for any given emergency, to
protect the life and property of our residents and visitors of
Washington County.

Background/History
Washington County developed the E911 System
in 1994, centralized on March 1, 1995, and updated the entire 911 system
in 1999 to better meet the emergency needs of its citizens. The Center
provides state-of-the-art technology and communications capabilities.
Our Center has Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and is enhanced 911
equipped whereas the caller’s phone number and address is displayed
automatically through the Automatic Numbering Indicator and Automatic
Location Indicator. We have the Geographical Information System (GIS)
mapping program implemented. This allows the telecommunicator to inform
the emergency responders of the caller's location and any cross streets.
The mapping program is maintained and updated regularly. Our Center is
equipped with TTY equipment which enables communications with the deaf
and hard of hearing. We also have the Language Line implemented which
enables communications with a non English speaking person
911 Surcharge
Currently, the 911 surcharge is $3.00 per
month.
